GUIDE Real Estate, a top independent California brokerage, today announced the appointment of Scott Chase as Broker of Record. Sandra Schraeder, who has served as GUIDE's Broker of Record since July 2022, will transition into the newly created role of Supervisory Broker, deepening the firm's investment in agent support and transaction oversight as it scales. Additionally, Scott will step into the Director of Business Development role, forging new relationships with key businesses that enhance the real estate agent’s service for their clients.
The leadership expansion comes as GUIDE continues a period of rapid growth, including the opening of new offices in Elk Grove and San Luis Obispo. By growing its broker leadership team, GUIDE is adding capacity where it matters most: hands-on support, education, and compliance resources for its agents.
Chase brings more than 20 years of senior brokerage and enterprise real estate leadership to GUIDE. He most recently served as President of Intero Real Estate Services, the Bay Area brokerage where he held successive roles as VP/Managing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President over more than seven years. His background spans brokerage operations, franchise economics, and multi-site performance management, with a track record of scaling multi-office platforms, strengthening agent productivity and retention, and building partnership ecosystems that expand agent capability and improve client outcomes. Earlier in his career, Chase held senior leadership roles in mortgage banking with Opes Advisors, Absolute Mortgage Banking, and Western Bancorp.
"Scott is a rare combination of operator and builder," said Maureen Barker, Founder and CEO of GUIDE Real Estate. "As we grow into new markets like Elk Grove and San Luis Obispo, our goal is still to be the modern, upscale brokerage of choice for the choice agents. Scott's experience scaling multi-office brokerages makes him the ideal leader for this goal, and Sandra's move to Compliance Broker means our agents now have two dedicated broker leaders in their corner."
"What drew me to GUIDE is the culture Maureen and this team have built. It’s fast-moving, collaborative, and relentlessly focused on agents and their clients," said Chase. "GUIDE is proving that an independent California brokerage can compete with anyone. I'm honored to serve as Broker of Record and to help our agents grow their businesses in every market we serve."
"Stepping into the Supervisory Broker role lets me focus on protecting our agents and their clients with rigorous, responsive transaction support," said Schraeder. "With Scott on board, GUIDE's agents have more broker-level support than ever."
